Street Party Guest Books

Are you in the midst of planning a street party for the Jubilee weekend? Is the bunting on order and are you envisaging cake stands brimming with cupcakes and trays laden with cheese and pineapple on sticks? Amongst other things the Royal Wedding Bank holiday last year showed us that we British love to get outside with our neighbours and have a big party. It's the perfect opportunity for all ages to get together and have some good old-fashioned fun.

A great idea is to get everyone attending, young and old, to sign a guest book. You could even invite people to draw pictures or write poems, marking the milestone and keeping something lasting for posterity. Here are our favourite picks in patriotic colours, and for £3/character we can personalise the guest book with your street name:

We also love this 'SINGING IN THE REIGN' tea towel by Rockett St George, particulary apt given the weather over the last few days.

All things Pencil

There is something exciting and inspiring about a brand new notebook and a freshly sharpened pencil. It all to do with the first day of a new term at school and the anticipation of what's in store (we're talking pre-adolescence here obviously).

Having just stumbled across the brilliant blog that is Pencil Revoltion we are already big fans. I'm suddenly seeing my HB Staedtler in a brand new light. The blog covers everything you could possibly think of that is pencil related, from beautiful vintage pencil collections to interviews with pencil artists, diary and notebook reviews and even pencil sharpener advice.

So here is my Macmillan notebook, ready to go with pencil sharpened, I'm joining the Revolution.
